Kutubdia, Bangladesh — RotoTech Bangladesh Limited has recently achieved a significant milestone in the marine engineering sector by successfully completing a complex MAN TCA66 turbocharger breakdown service on a Greece-flagged vessel at the outer anchorage of the Kutubdia deep-sea area.

The vessel faced a critical mechanical failure when the turbocharger rotor became completely seized due to damage in the steel radial bearing on the turbine end (TE). A detailed inspection revealed extensive damage, including the turbine blades with shaft, all bearing components, nozzle ring, and shroud ring. As a result of this severe failure, the vessel was immobilized and unable to proceed with its voyage.

Despite the challenging offshore conditions and the complexity of the repair, RotoTech Bangladesh Limited mobilized its expert marine service team and successfully executed the full scope of work. All damaged components were replaced, the turbocharger was reassembled, tested, and returned to operational condition. Following successful commissioning, the turbocharger performed normally, and the vessel is now fully operational and ready to sail.
